1 – General Information
These Terms and Conditions (from now on referred to as the “Terms and Conditions”) apply to all participants (from now on referred to as the “Participant(s)”) who register to attend the 51st CIMUSET Conference (from now on referred to as the “Event”) organised by CIMUSET and the Vienna Museum of Science and Technology TMW (from now on referred to as the “Organisers”).
By registering, the Participant confirms that he/she has read these Terms and Conditions and, where applicable, any Special Regulations provided by the Organisers and undertakes to accept all the clauses thereof without reservation or restriction.
Admission to the Event implies full acceptance by the Participant of these Terms and Conditions and all the documents referred to herein. The Organisers reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions without prior notice.
Modifications resulting from changes in regulations and/or relating to the safety of persons and property shall apply immediately without the need to communicate them to the Participants.
In the event of a change in the dates, site, or format of the event, as determined by the Organisers for any reason, the Participant will be notified.
If the Participant does not wish to accept these changes, they must cancel their registration within 15 days of the notification. Otherwise, they will be deemed to have accepted the new conditions.

In the event of any changes, the Organizers are committed to promptly informing the Participant of their decision to cancel, reschedule, or revise the Event format.
1. Registration
All registrations to the Event are managed through our partner, Eventbrite, and may be subject to review by the Organisers.
The Organisers reserve the right to assess and verify the following non-exhaustive list of information:
- ICOM Membership Status
- Category of Membership
The Organisers reserve the right not to consider registrations submitted after the deadline for registration defined by the Organisers.
After registering on the Eventbrite platform, the invitation is strictly for personal use and may not be reassigned, transferred, or lent to another person.
2. Cancellation Policy
If you cancel your registration up to 30 days before the conference, you will receive an 80% refund of the fees paid. However, you will not receive a refund if you cancel after that.
To receive any possible reimbursement, cancellations must be submitted to CIMUSET2024Vienna@tmw.at.
3. Pricing
All prices on the CIMUSET Vienna 2024 website (https://cimusetvienna2024.com) are expressed in Euros and inclusive of VAT.
4. Cancellation due to a force majeure event
Suppose the Organisers cancel the Event due to an event of force majeure recognised by Austrian jurisprudence or as defined by Austrian courts. In that case, the Organisers will immediately inform the Participants.
In this case, the Organisers shall not be liable for any loss or damage but shall refund the Participants any sums they have paid them.
Force majeure events include:
- events qualified as such by courts,
- events that make it impossible to operate the conference venue, whatever the cause, such as but not limited to the following events:
- fire, explosion, flood, storm, lightning,
- damage to technical equipment, resulting in the inability to operate the Conference Venue,
- flood, violent storm, damage caused by lightning,
- decision by a government authority to close or requisition the Conference Venue,
- strike.
5. Organisers’ rights
The Organiser reserve the right to:
- Stop any activity on the part of any Participant that may interfere with or cause annoyance to any activity or meeting organised during the event;
- Exclude or remove anyone from the Event who does not comply with these terms and conditions or is not showing or abiding by general good conduct and/or such professional behaviour as expected from the Event.
6. Invalidity
Suppose one or more provisions of these Terms and Conditions are found invalid or declared as such under any law or regulation or following a final court decision. In that case, the remaining provisions will remain in force and retain their scope of application.
7. Liability waiver and release
The Participant agrees and acknowledges that they participate in or to the Event of their own free will and intentional act.
The Participant understands and accepts that they assume responsibility for their well-being and safety and that their participation in or in the Event
may involve an element of risk and danger of accidents; which element of danger or risk they hereby assume.
The Participant hereby waives, releases, and discharges any claims for damage for personal injury, death or property damage which he/she may have, or which may hereafter accrue to him/her, as a result of his/her participation in or to the Event.
This release is intended to discharge in advance the Organisers, their directors, employees, and agents from any liability arising out of or connected in any way with the Participant’s participation in or to the Event.
This liability waiver is to be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
8. Third-party website and intellectual property
This Website may contain Content, links, and other information submitted by third parties over whom the Organizer has no control.
The Organizer declines any responsibility for access, content, or use of these sites or for any damage that may result from consulting the information on these sites. The decision to activate these links is the full responsibility of the Internet user.
All content, text, images, data, information, and other materials displayed, available or present on this website (“Content”), including intellectual property rights in such Content (including trademarks and copyrights) (from now on “Intellectual Property Rights”), are owned by the Organisers respectively and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
It should be assumed that everything you see or read on this site is copyrighted unless otherwise noted and may not be used without express written permission.
9. Protection of personal data
The Organisers process the personal data communicated by the Participant when he/she registers to attend the 51st CIMUSET Conference in Vienna.
The processing of the personal data is based on the Organizers’ legitimate interest in organising the Event.
The personal data that must be provided are indicated on the registration form and are necessary for the Participant’s registration to the Event. The Organiser cannot process the Participant’s requests without said data.
Personal data will be communicated only to the Organiser’s authorised partners and technical service suppliers and stored according to the
Organiser’s Privacy Policy.
According to the applicable regulations, the Participant has a right to access, rectifier, object to the processing of its data, delete data and limit
its processing, and regard the portability of its data. The Participant may exercise these rights at any time by writing to cimuset2024vienna@tmw.at. Finally,
the Participant has the right to complain to the relevant authorities.
These Terms of Use become effective on March 1, 2024.
